We're making the Donate Life Family Fun Run experience virtual!

While we can't be together in person, we're hoping to make the 2020 Donate Life Family Fun Run just as meaningful as year's past. We hope you'll join us for the virtual event kickoff where we will share stories and come together to celebrate organ, eye, and tissue donation.

We will have additional opportunities to engage as part of our virtual race, like sending in photos and videos from your own run/walk, sharing your customized team t-shirts, and submitting your 5K run or walk time. Stay tuned for more details as we continue with our planning!

Live-Streamed Online Presentation | Sept. 26 at 9 a.m. EST

We will hosting a live-streaming online presentation at 9 a.m. to kick off our virtual run/walk. Join us from wherever you are via Facebook, Instagram, or Zoom. You'll hear from our CEO, Charlie Alexander, as well as hear stories from transplant recipients and donor families. We will share dedication signs in honor and support of people impacted by donation and transplantation. And we will have a warmup before everyone goes into their own neighborhoods to walk or run for this cause!

Race T-Shirt

This year's race t-shirt is available for purchase for $20 during registration. For this year's t-shirt design, we wanted to acknowledge and celebrate the fact that this will be our first ever all virtual race. Going virtual means we can be joined by participants all over the state, the country, and even the world, to come together to support donation and transplantation. The yellow and white circles symbolize YOU and fellow runners and walkers participating from all over the globe. We've included the Baltimore skyline to connect to our home state of Maryland and to represent the location of our live-streamed online presentation on race morning.

All t-shirts will be mailed to participants either before or after the race. If you register before Sept. 6, 2020, we will mail your t-shirt  so you should receive it before the race on the 26th. If you register after Sept. 6, you will receive your t-shirt after the virtual event.

Timing and Awards

We are working closely with our race partners at Charm City Run and RunSignup to enable 5K participants to submit their run or walk times if they choose. You will need to "opt in" at registration for this feature, which is only available for our 5K participants.

Time submission will be available starting at 9 a.m. on Sept. 26 and close at 11:59 p.m. EST on Sept. 28. Top finishers from selected categories will be awarded. We will also have the option for all participants who submit a time to print a "finisher's certificate" following the virtual race.

Got a Question?

What is a virtual race?

How do I start my own team?

How do I donate to a team?

When will I receive my t-shirt?

Can I submit my own time?

Do I have to fundraise?

If I'm walking, do I have to do the 1K?
